Meet Evelien Griffioen

Evelien built the Customer Insights and Experience department at Yoco and holds over a decade of international experience in crafting innovative product and service strategies.

She has helped visionary leaders navigate disruptive shifts in society, and make sense of complexity to reveal opportunities where others point to challenges. Evelien grounds innovation in a deep understanding of evolving needs and expectations.

Evelien is recognized for her ability to foster high-performance teams, both in the rowing sport and the innovation space. She creates safety and focus in high-pressure environments, unlocking individuals potential and enabling people and teams to thrive.

She heads up the coaching team of the UCT Rowing Club, her athletes are the proud winners of the RMB University Boatrace of 2023, breaking a 13 year streak by TUKS, and a first win for UCT in over two decades.

She proudly holds an MSc degree in Strategic Product Design, earned with distinction, from the Delft University of Technology.

Meet Paul Steenkamp

Paul is a passionate, purpose-driven catalyst for change, innovation, and impact.

Over the past 25+ years, he has carved out a niche by operating at the intersection of human-centered design, customer insights, and organisational effectiveness.

At FNB, he helped steer the employee innovation program, fostering a culture of innovation and harnessing the collective genius of the workforce. This experience, combined with his tenures at powerhouses Capgemini and Standard Bank, where he served on the Executive Committee of Standard Bank South Africa, gives Paul deep empathy for what it takes to solve complex problems within complex organisations.

The two terms he spent serving South Africa’s parliament as a member of the National Advisory Council on Innovation have given Paul insights into what it takes to solve complex societal challenges at an ecosystem level.

Paul is an author, shedding light on character-driven leadership and its role in shaping a regenerative future. An advocate for quality early education through Africa A+ Schools and a co-founder of the social impact enterprise Uhalisi, underscore Paul’s commitment to societal betterment.

He is a keen trail runner and social soccer enthusiast in Hout Bay, and holds an Executive MBA from Henley Business School, and honours in Industrial Psychology from Rhodes University.
